Starlight Boys Show and Judges Under Fire

People have been actively boycotting the new survival show Starlight Boys and going after the judges due to how cruelly they have been treating the contestants.

In the first episode of the show, the first challenge had the contestants line up in rows and they had to dance to the show's opening songs until they passed out or were selected by the judges.

The dance was not easy. Eric of The Boyz, who is a mentor on the show and appeared in episode 2, had to do the dance in that episode and commented on how difficult it was.

In total the contestants had to dance to the song 21 times straight with about 30 seconds of rest between each set. Some contestants did in fact pass out, were struggling to breathe and had to use an inhaler (nebulizer?), and broke out into panic attacks.

fans are angry that the show intentionally did not pick a certain contestant, where this is his third idol show, right away to push him to a breaking point for views. The judges admitted he was very talented but intentionally did not pick him until one of the last rounds and said he "had no charm".

Lee Seung Gi is particularly under attack by how straight-up cruel he treated the contestants. He attacked the contestants for fainting and yelled at them that this "is only a few times" and that if they were dedicated trainees they shouldn't be tired yet.

One contestant tried to speak up to defend the other contestants and argued that they weren't machines and this is cruel, but Seung Gi snapped back at him yelling that their mentors have to do concerts with 30-40 songs straight and no breaks and they shouldn't be tired. The contestant then was forced to apologize.

(I don't know about Seung Gi, but I don't think i've never seen a 40 song kpop concert. Also, singers most certainly do not perform all their songs straight, there are breaks in between where they talk or they play videos so the members can get changed backstage and drink water and they include songs where they sit down for a break. Exactly what type of concerts is he going to?? :iwillfightyou: )

Yoon of StayC, along with the other judges, are under attack for smiling and laughing while watching the contestants faint.

Hui of Pentagon on the other hand, is getting praised. He broke out into tears (or was about to?) over how terrible the contestants were treated. Especially after knowing how they must feel after competing in Boys Planet.

Illit Presumed Boycotted On Tiktok

illit-cherish-my-love.gif

The hottest topic on twitter right now is Illit and their cherish dance challenge.

Illit is currently under fire because netizens have pointed out no one has filmed a Tiktok dance challenge with them.

Usually while promoting on music shows groups film together while backstage, but Illit has filmed with no one. Not even JYP who films with everybody.

Some people are saying this is normal and Hybe groups normally don't film dance challenges with other groups unless they come to the hybe building to dance with them.
(I want to shout out that I have noticed this. Hybe groups only film tiktok challenges with eachother at the Hybe building, and if they film with another group (like Kai and his sisters) then the other group has to come to the Hybe building and they can only film there. It's somewhat rare to see them filming at a music show).

Many Netizens(/Tokki's) are saying this is Karma and Illit deserves this for Hybe allegedly not allowing NJ to film tiktok dance
