Sooyoung successful in Japan
SNSD member Sooyoung has recently made her Japanese debut with the song UNSTOPPABLE
Her debut seems to be well received, and a video of her performing Genie in Japanese was trending online

LSM loophole

I’ve been providing update son LSM’s new company A20, though the biggest question has been: What about his non-competition agreement?
Well we got our answer. LSM has pulled a loophole and revealed his company is actually based out of Singapore, not South Korea.
The main headquarters are in Singapore with branches in the US, China, and Japan.
With these multiple branches, A2O is currently trying to gain talents from multiple nationalities to create global music that is “greater than Kpop”
Specifically, his target audience for his next group is Generation Alpha and Gen Z, hoping to create a new music group called “ZAlpha Pop”

Fromis_9 Supersonic still killing it in charts
While Supersonic might have dropped out of our weekly song charts, Fromis_9’s comeback Supersonic has still been going strong in Korea!
As of today it is still in the top 10 on melon (it’s currently #8, a drop down from its previous spot at #5), and has been charting for over 25 days.

Sakura songwriting credits
Recently Le Sserafim's Sakura has finally been giving writing credits for songs she wrote during HKT48 and AKB48 in the JASRAC (Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers)
Word on the internet is a court case made them finally credit her for all of the songs? But I can't find a source for this.
Combined with her songwriting credits in the kpop community, Sakura currently has 101 songs credited to her name which puts her in the top rankings for kpop idols with the most songwriting credits. (For comparison, Soyeon has at least 181 songs credited to her as of end of 2023, and Han from Stray Kids has 152).

Fans send protest trucks over MiSaMo controversial comeback
Some protest trucks were sent to the JYP building yesterday over some controversial choreography in MiSaMo's newest song Identity.
Fans are protesting that the choreography is too sexual, here is a video of the controversial part:
The protest trucks were sent asking JYP to please change this part of the choreography to something that less sexualizes women.
BSK and MHJ popular halloween costume
Someone already beat me to this in the random thoughts thread but I already had this written out so i'm keeping this in here.
Recently a couple dressing up as BSK and MHJ for halloween has been trending online.
MHJ has actually been a really popular halloween costume this year with tons of people dressing up like her online. (I've seen a LOT on tiktok personally)
NGL after her shirts kept selling out I low-key saw this coming.
MHJ and Zico make statements about the Hybe report
Just to end this I wanted provide a small update on the latest Hybe controversy.
(I've been too busy with schoolwork to really make a full post summarizing everything, but I wanted to include this small bit).
It was revealed that all managers in Hybe received a copy of the report that insulted tons of kpop idols.
Zico made a statement on his instagram saying he was given a copy of this report but never read it:
I am also hearing some sources saying Zico was intentionally left out of the report?
MHJ claims she sent a complaint about the external report when she received it because she didn't want new people entering the company to think this was normal behavior for Hybe
While I don't like Zico, I actually believe him that maybe he didn't see/read the internal report.
I'm side-eyeing MHJ though because the report mentioned wanting to replace NJ's with a new group. If she had this information from them, why didn't she submit this as evidence in the illit is copying NJ case?
I feel like this would have helped her?
The articles around Zico online all seem to confirm BSK was the one to ask/put together this report (not the current Hybe CEO) and it seems BSK was the one who wanted Zico included in receiving this report.
