MHJ, NJ, and NJ parents accuse Illit of bullying via noodles

Please take a seat and allow me to tell you about the biggest BS I have ever read in my life

NewJeans vs ILLIT, Girl Group HYBE ...

:squints:Author: Russlan Roulette

There was apparently more NJ vs Illit stuff going on in Korea than overseas.

This is all apparently old news but it's trending again and I felt compared to share all of this with you because this is the stupidest fight i've ever read in my life.

To begin this story:

Months ago (I think end of last year?) New Jean's Minji was in a scandal over this dish kalguksu.
During a broadcast (or show?) New Jeans were asked about kalguksu and Minji responded "What's kalguksu?" and Korean netizens went rapid.

Kalguksu is a common Korean dish so there's no way Minji would not know what Kalguksu is. Many netizens attacked her and felt she was acting stuck up/entitled for saying she did not know what kalguksu was (they pretty much interpreted the event as "what's kalguksu? I am too rich to eat commoner food like that")

What didn't help was in reaction to the hate from KNetz Minji then went onto live broadcast and ranted:
"Do you think I don’t know the meaning of kalguksu? I know how many types of kalguksu there are, what goes into it, and what materials it’s made from.”"

This reaction brought even more hate from Knetz, saying she has an attitude problem.

Minji later had to release a handwritten apology over the event.

I'm not sure if this blurb was from her handwritten apology or not, but here's a translation of part of her apology from this source:
I’m truly sorry to Bunnies who were surprised and hurt by the not-so-good attitude I showed during the live broadcast, where I naturally and comfortably communicated with Bunnies."
“I know what reactions there were to my words last winter when I said I didn’t know what kalguksu was. Because I have severe food preferences and have never tried kalguksu, I unintentionally muttered to myself ‘What is kalguksu?’ while thinking about the types and tastes of kalguksu. I didn’t realize that a misunderstanding could arise from my muttering, and I wanted to explain clearly, but I thought it might be like spilled water, and I believed it would calm down over time.”

For timeline reference: I believe the event happened in december-ish of last year and Minji going on live broadcast and her apology happened during the month of January.

How Illit got involved:

Time passes over this. Illit debuts.

As part of an Mnet segment Illit plays " Favorite Food World Cup" where the girls are presented with two food dishes and share which one they like more
(ex: Do you like pizza or french fries?)

One of the questions was "galbi-jjim or kalguksu" and 4 members choose kalguksu while 1 member chooses galbi-jjim". The Mnet editors also added a caption:
: "trending item: kalguksu" (I assume because the majority of the girls chose it).

This causes a massive shit show online.

Tokki's accuse Hybe of media play and think Hybe intentionally told Illit to choose kalguksu to attack New Jeans.

New Jeans parent's and MHJ both accuse Illit of bullying New Jeans because they said they liked kalguksu.

MHJ goes on a spree on instagram liking posts and videos of people who say Illit are bullying New Jeans by liking kalguksu.

When someone in Korea posted a screenshot of MHJ liking their post it went viral online and MHJ later released a statement that she "must have liked it by accident"
:jy:

NJ's parents then start being vocal about how both them and their children (aka the New Jeans members) firmly feel Illit was bullying them buy choosing kalguksu in the game. They believe this was an intentionally jab by Belift/Hybe to humiliate NJ online and filed a formal documented complaint about it.

Their argument was that galbi-jjim is a more "luxury" food so there is no way the illit members would have chosen a more lowly common food like kalguksu over the luxurious galbi-jjim.

*Something I would like to shout out here is that while MHJ and NJ/NJ parents are accusing Belift/Hybe of adding that "kalguksu trending item" caption, this was something Illit filmed for Mnet so they did all the editing.*

Why this is being brought up again now:

Jin is releasing an album soon and I guess during his daily promotions he said he liked kalguksu, so Knetz brought up this controversy again.
Knetz were joking that they wonder if Korean celebrities will be allowed to publicly talk about or eat kalguksu again without being attacked.

I'm personally waiting to see if NJ/MHJ/NJ Parents/Tokki's will soon accuse Jin of bullying NJ as well by him saying he likes kalguksu.
