The Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) has announced new guidelines to enhance the fairness and transparency of K-pop award ceremonies.

The latest guidelines were established to address various issues arising as a result of the influx of K-Pop award ceremonies in the industry. The main points include elevating the prestige of ceremonies, protecting the rights of artists and fans, and improving the culture of award ceremonies.

The key aspects of the guidelines are as follows:

1) Thorough preparation and management will be required to host reliable and dignified award ceremonies.

2) Fair and transparent awarding criteria should be presented to foster a culture of award ceremonies that contributes to the industry's development.
3)
The choices of management companies and artists should be respected, and the rights of participants protected. Furthermore, the ceremonies should preferably be held domestically.

4) The guidelines call for the need to strengthen cooperation with the government to ensure the proper hosting of award ceremonies.

Following the announcement of these guidelines, the KMCA plans to release a standard contract in July for artists' award ceremony participation. This standard contract is intended to support fair agreements between artists and management companies for award ceremony appearances. These measures are intended to protect the rights of artists and reduce legal risks for management companies.

The announcement of these guidelines and the distribution of a standard contract can be seen as a significant step towards enhancing the fairness and transparency of K-pop award ceremonies and promoting the sustainable development of the music industry. Detailed information can be found on the official website of the Korea Music Content Association.
